Batten Down the Hatches
As if there weren't enough to worry about! Now we have a disabled spy satellite plummeting toward our planet. It could arrive come late February or March. Hmmmm...I'm not so sure I like such a tentative scheduling. I'd at least like to greet it properly, with the right music and a nice supply of wine.
*Cheers*

Shameless Self Promotion
In the rare event that someone actually stumbles upon my little corner of cyberspace, check out my design on Threadless. Give it a $5 if you like it! This design has a bit of a personal story behind it, as my grandmother named me hummingbird when I was born. This probably explains why I love music, but can't carry a tune!

Face Diary
It's amazing how telling a person's face can be...years lived evidenced through laugh lines, scowl lines...scars. Do the eyes smile up, or cower down all weepy like. I seem to have a small crease developing between my eyebrows, which means I'm either perplexed or confused most of the time. Hmmmm...what does your face say about you I wonder.

I Am Legend
So I saw I am Legend yesterday and although I found it entertaining, there were some disappointments. It's always a plus to see Will Smith in more serious roles. Proof that he's come a long way since Bel Air. I think he does an amazing job considering that he is the sole actor throughout much of the movie.
The biggest disappointment is with the infected humans, who look more like rabid alien zombies. Unfortunately, I think something is lost in the computer generated images. They are definitely creepy and caused me to jump out of my seat on more than a few occasions, but they totally lose even the slightest hint of human qualities, which leaves me feeling unsympathetic (poor alien zombies!). I'm not even sure I care if a cure is found. Thanks to the obvious computer graphics, I suddenly feel like I'm playing an Xbox game and have an urge to gun them down. I think this was an example of computer graphics gone not so good. Still it was entertaining on a lonely Saturday afternoon.

Sometimes Rosy
Good thing I'm oblivious most of the time or maybe just too darn busy. If I actually sat and thought about all the madness going on right now, I'd probably be hiding out from the men in white coats. Thank goodness for moments of coziness and dreams of something better.
I swear I haven't been reading Tony Robbins.

Flashback Neil
My old dad went a walkin' one day,
Pushing tall weeds
Right outta his way,
My old daddy went a walkin' one day,
Hey now, hey now
I've checked with the cool police and they give Neil Young their big shiny badged approval, which is a good thing because I happen to dig him. Why is he cool? Because his voice is raw, rugged, wear and tear to the soul, that's why. It's something we feel when it's not all purdy. Every time I listen to a Neil Young song I want to go out and buy a damn harmonica and hop a train. When I was a teenager I had a chance to see him in concert, but passed on it because I needed to study for a test. I don't remember if I passed the bloody test, but I failed to see one of the coolest legends ever! That I regret.
For some reason I often think of my dad when I hear Neil. My dad has a similar simplicity and a rugged way about him. Here's to my dad, Neil, missed opportunites and things that don't come with a polished finish.

Saturday nights can be dang! depressing when you have no where to go. At least there's always Plan B, no? Throw in a glass of wine and it's off to some hypnotic place.

Lay with me, I'll lay with you.
we'll do the things that lovers do.
put the stars in our eyes...
and with heart shaped bruises...
and late night kisses,

Dreamy sparkley tunes that ebb and flow to some familiar place. We must have been here before. But then again, maybe we stumbled upon it in a dream. Nonetheless, it's a place I want to be.
